Machinima is formally no longer. The former Multi-channel community, which became a gamer-culture milestone with the emergence of YouTube over a decade past, dismissed 81 workers and has ceased operations, its ownership stated in a statement to Deadline Hollywood.
Two weeks ago, all of Machinima’s YouTube content a catalog stretching back 12 years, are officially taken offline.
A Machinima spokesperson confirmed the firings but stated a “select number” of workers were still aboard Otter Media to”supercharge” its holdings.
Machinima, one of YouTube’s greatest and earliest channels, goes dim. “Machinima has ceased its remaining operations, which Includes layoffs,” the statement said. Russell Aarons, who came in as Machinima’s chief executive at 2017, is”helping with transitional actions as she explores new opportunities.”
