There are not one but two new Pokemon games that are coming exclusively to Nintedo Switch worldwide on November 15th and they are called Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield. These games will be the first main series games in the eight generation of the whole Pokemon game franchise and the second in the series to be released for console.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield differences
The main adventure in both games is the same the players starts his journey to become the strongest Pokémon trainer in the Galar Region. The game starts off by the player receiving one of the three Pokémon from the local Professor Magnolia. When the new trailer receives a letter of endorsement from Champion Leon, they get a chance to battle against the Gym leaders in each town as they travel around the game world.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Gym leaders
Here is one of the first differences these Gym leaders in Pokémon Sword will include Bea (fighting type expert) and in Pokémon Shield you will have to test your skills against Allister (ghost-type expert). While battling with these trainers, players main goal is to take part in Champions Cup to earn their right to take part in it. This is as similar to how to Evolve Micery as it gets as to Trainers like Nessa (water-type expert) and Milo (grass-type expert) will also be in these games.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield version exclusives
Though one of the most important difference in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are version exclusives. There will be different kinds of species of Pokémon that will appear in each of these games. For example, Pokémon like Deino (Dark/Dragon Pokémon) and Jangmo-o (dragon-type Pokémon) will be available exclusively for Pokémon Sword players. And Pokémon like Larvitar (rock/ground Pokémon) and Goomy (dragon-type) will be available exclusively for Pokémon Shield.
One more interesting fact about these games is that they will bring the total number of Pokémon in the series to over a thousand. Though the games won’t have every Pokémon from the franchise history.
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield different Legendaries
Similar to other Pokémon games, these two will each be represented by a different Legendary Pokémon. For Sword it will be Zacian holding a sword in its maw of course. And for the Shield the mascot is Zamazenta that kind of looks like a shield if you think about it. There is not much information these two Pokémon.
